So often we dismiss our own acts of courage and take them for granted. When it comes to being assertive for ourselves many of us shrink away. Can you remember the last time you did something that took courage? Was it on your behalf or for another? Often we find courage when it comes to supporting others; somehow, we’re able to ask questions and go a little further on behalf of another. Where did that come from?
In life, we also need to be courageous for ourselves. The Latin root of the word courage is “cor” which means heart. Though the origin of the word is heart, your courage may originate from somewhere else. Making a change, at work,at home, and within ourselves requires some amount of courage, for example, speaking up, taking on more or different activities which interest you, or trying a new exercise. When you think about the benefits of courage within your situation, what are they?
So, where do you find the courage? Take a moment to close your eyes and see if you can locate a spot in your body where courage resides. Tap that area to check out that it is your seat of courage. Perhaps an image came to mind rather than a place in your body, you can tap your head.
What could you attain by tapping into your courage?
Go ahead and tap your spot to get connected to your courage. Be courageous, and let us know what happens for you when you are.
