Identifying and articulating for yourself what you want to develop and achieve helps you to focus; the same is true for your clients. As coaches we partner with clients so they can clarify what they want to be different. This process of clarification occurs both in the session and throughout the coaching relationship. The ability to clarify what is wanted, and identify ways to get there is transformative.
What is wanted is the base for establishing and maintaining agreements in coaching. In coaching, sometimes what is wanted evolves; it is important to inquire and move toward what is truly wanted. A common challenge for coaches is to focus on coaching the person and not the problem. Mentor coaching can be especially impactful in this area, learning ways to go deeper and get to underlying habits and beliefs that interfere with client progress.
If you want to make a shift toward becoming a more transformational coach, join me and Monica Leggett for Group Mentor Coaching. We’ll be facilitating a small group of coaches over 5 consecutive Wednesdays, October 2 – October 30, 8:30 – 10 am Eastern. You’ll have an opportunity to coach others and get live feedback as well as learn from others in the group. To find out more, contact me directly.
Develop your mastery. Become a more transformative coach!
