The lists above only reflect a fraction of what nurses do and elements of who you are. In appreciation of all that nurses do and for you as individuals, I’m offering FREE Wheel of Well-Being coaching sessions through the end of May. Sign Up here.
One of the special things about being a nurse is that you get to interact with a diversity of people. Almost everyone in our society has benefited from the care and skill of a nurse, and society as a whole benefits from the dedication of nurses. Thank you, I know that I have benefited from nurse colleagues involvement in my life.
This week provides a good opportunity for your places of employment to publically recognize and celebrate you. With burnout you may be feeling like you have little impact; now is a good time for employers to identify and acknowledge all that you do for them and for patients. Perhaps, the reminders will stimulate your thinking and appreciation for yourself too.
One of my favorite phrases from Tal Ben Shahar is “Appreciate the Positive and the Positive Appreciates.” Nurse Appreciation Week provides a foundation to build on. What’s something you appreciate that you may have taken for granted? Let us know by leaving a comment.
