Each of you has skills, tools, and intuitions. Knowing when to bring them to life in your coaching can make the experience transformative for both you and your coachee.
Yesterday, I took my own advice to recharge. I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Arts to be amongst beauty. I had been thinking about the transformative nature of coaching and mentor coaching. At the special exhibit Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, I saw a beautiful yellow tightly pleated evening gown and was wowed. Not only is it elegant when hanging on a mannequin, but when twirling in the dress the pleats spread open and it looks like a dancing yellow flower. From beauty hanging loosely in a potential state to emerging in a new form when brought to life.
What does this have to do with coaching and mentoring? Developing your abilities to call on the right tools and intuitions takes time. As a coach, you can speed your progress by participating in Mentor Coaching.
